How long does a typical repair take?

Most repairs are completed within 2–4 weeks after we receive your project. Walk-in customers can generally expect a 1–2 week turnaround. We are happy to accommodate emergency repairs.

What types of shoes can you repair?

We repair all types of footwear including dress shoes, boots, sneakers, specialty footwear, and the list goes on!

How do I ship my project?

After purchasing your resole package online, securely box your project and ship them to Fred’s Shoe Repair. Once your repair is completed, we’ll ship them back to you.

Do you offer mail-in boot repair nationwide?

Yes. Fred’s Shoe Repair proudly offers nationwide mail-in repair services for customers across the United States.

Can cracked leather be repaired?

In many cases, yes. Minor cracking, loose stitching, and worn areas can often be repaired or reinforced. Severe leather damage may limit repair options.

Should I clean my boots before shipping?

Light cleaning is appreciated but not required. We recommend removing excess mud or debris before packaging your boots.

Can you repair stitching, hooks, or eyelets too?

Yes. We can often repair loose stitching, replace speed hooks, eyelets, laces, and perform additional boot / shoe repairs during the resoling process.

Why repair my footwear instead of replacing them?

Repairing your footwear helps preserve the comfort and fit already broken into the leather while costing significantly less than replacing a quality pair of shoes / boots.

Will my shoes / boots look different after repair?

Your shoes / boots will retain their overall character and broken-in feel, but new soles and restored components can dramatically improve appearance and functionality.
